Studying and applying what you study in the bible can ensure peace and happiness

to your life. The scripture at Proverbs 2:10-12 says: "When wisdom enters into your heart

...discernment will safeguard you, to deliver you from the bad way..." You gain wisdom and

discernment by reading the bible. Wisdom and discernment are two of the keys to living a

better life. These two qualities help you deal with troubles that WILL come your way. Also

at Galatians 5:22,23, it lists qualities worth attaining to live a better life. They are:

Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faith, Mildness, and Self-control.Think

of how all of those qualities are positive. If you were to look all of those qualities

up in a dictionary, each one helps you with every aspect of life.

When studying the bible, prayer is very helpful. It is the request of God to give you his

spirit so that you may attain what you are studying. You could think of prayer as a hotline or an

open communication line to God. He even encourages us to do so at Phillipians 4:6,7. He wants us to

pray to him. Prayer is mentioned in the bible as the way to find solice in this world of mishaps. When

we go to him in prayer, it allows us to "throw our burdens" on God.(Ps.55:22) If praying to god helps us

with our daily struggles, how much so will it help us with trying to learn and live by what he has said.

Simply reading the bible is beneficial but, when prayer is added, the learningexperience becomes so much

richer. You gain so much more from the scriptures. For, "the power beyond what is normal" belongs to God.(2 Cor. 4:7)

We don't have that power so, when we pray we are asking him for his power and

his will to be done in our lives.

Some say:"The bible was written centuries ago. Times were different..." This

may be true to some degree but, have you ever wondered why it was written? It was written for

us as a guide to live by. True, times were different than now but, how those in biblical

times did things saved their lives.Their life was recorded in writing for us to look at and EXAMINE.

They had troubles and problems just as we have and perhapsworse than ours. Looking at the example of

Noah and how he showed godly fear and faith helps us apreciate the bible. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith

as" the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities not beheld."

Noah displayed faith by constructing that ark "for the saving of his household; and through this faith

he condemned the world."(Heb. 11:7) Noah didn't have the advantages that we have today. He didn't have

any examples to examine and learn from. We do have that advantage. The bible gives us that knowledge

that Noah had to obtain through years of expeeience. Noah had that strong type of faith that was deemed

steadfast. Through faith in what God instructed on Noah, We are here today. So,studying the bible an

applying what we study is beneficial for our lives because it ensures life in the future and we fulfill

what god requested of us.
